DR. MICHELE ESTHEIMER
OWNER/ VETERINARIAN
Dr. Michele Estheimer is excited to return to her roots and to be with her patients and clients. Opening her own, privately held, Veterinary Practice to serve the community she grew up in, has been her dream. She has practiced all over town in both private and corporate settings and there is nowhere she would rather be than in her home community of Marana. It was important for Dr. Estheimer to create a unique veterinary experience that her team, patients and clients all would enjoy.
Dr. Michele Estheimer attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. During that time, she also lived and studied at the University of Cambridge, Department of Veterinary Medicine, in the United Kingdom. After receiving her DVM, Dr. Estheimer returned home to Tucson to complete post DVM training, an Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson, in Tucson, Arizona. She has been in general practice in Tucson ever since. Dr. Estheimer has an interest in preventive care, internal medicine, Valley Fever/Coccidioidomycosis, neurology and integrative medicine.
Before Dr. Estheimer attended UW-Madison for her DVM degree, she worked for QANTAS Airways for over 5 years and traveled the world… just ask her where! She is nearly a Tucson native, is one of the first graduating classes at Mountain View High School (GO LIONS!) and is also a graduate of the University of Arizona (GO CATS!) . She did research at the U of A back when they had a dairy herd and studied the effects of heat stress on dairy cows. Dr. Estheimer is excited at the opportunity to collaborate with UAZ CVM in their distributive model and assisting the next generation of Arizona educated Veterinarians to serve our community.
Dr. Estheimer is refreshed by traveling and spending time with friends. She enjoys scuba diving, is an avid hiker and is always on the ready for her next adventure! She calls Mexico her home away from home. Her sidekick, Cora, (Corazón) was a 10 yo FS Black Lab Mix rescue from DLRR that could be found at the Practice with her from the inception and Dr E is now looked after by her successor, Chula, who is a 2yo FS Black Lab Mix rescue from DLRR and she has the biggest paws to fill.
